This Privacy Policy describes how In Or Out (the “App”), operated by Curb and Couch (“we”, “us”, or “our”), collects, uses, and shares information when you use our iOS and Android applications and related backend services.

• Account information — email address, display name, and authentication identifiers when you sign in with email or Google (via Firebase Authentication).
• Location information — approximate or precise location (with your permission) so we can recommend nearby restaurants, events, and activities.
• Preferences and profile choices — movies and TV shows you like, streaming services, cuisines, dietary preferences (for example, Halal), interests, favorite artists and teams, and similar taste signals you provide during onboarding or in settings.
• In-app activity — swipes, saved items, and similar interactions used to personalize recommendations.
• Device and notification data — push notification tokens and basic device/app diagnostics needed to deliver alerts and keep the service reliable.
• Support communications — information you send us if you contact support.

3. How we use information

We use the information above to:

• Create and manage your account
• Personalize “Night In” and “Night Out” recommendations
• Show nearby restaurants, events, and activities
• Send optional push notifications about picks and updates
• Improve, secure, and troubleshoot the App
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

• Service providers that help us operate the App, such as Google Firebase (authentication, database, messaging, hosting), Google Cloud (backend hosting), and map/places or event data providers used to generate recommendations (for example, Google Places and Ticketmaster APIs).
• Other users, only where a feature you use is social by design (for example, friend-related activity you choose to enable).
• Legal and safety recipients when required by law or to protect users, the App, or our rights.

5. Data storage and retention

We store account and preference data in cloud services (including Google Firebase / Google Cloud). We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App, comply with law, or resolve disputes. You may request deletion of your account data by contacting us at the email above.

6. Your choices

• Location — you can disable location access in your device settings. Some nearby recommendations may not work without it.
• Notifications — you can disable push notifications in your device settings.
• Account / data requests — contact us to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with your account, subject to applicable law.

7. Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

8. International users

The App may process information in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. By using the App, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version at this URL and revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
